Ellie's follow up with the neurologist.

Ellie had a follow up with the neurologist on Friday, she wasn't to thrilled about it and let's be honest neither was I. Even though I can see for myself that Ellie is doing well I was afraid he would tell me something wasn't right. So we crossed our fingers and toes & headed to the appointment, I'm glad we got there early cause we had no idea where to go, the guy at the front desk was no help not to mention he was a little rude about Ellie's hair " I assume that's a little girl it's hard to tell with such a short hair cut" Me- "Well we are here for a post surgery follow up with neurology" seriously dude ya work in the medical field be a little more professional! Anyway after going to the wrong floor and taking a little bathroom break we found the right floor and place to be. While waiting Ellie decided that just sitting and waiting was boring so she danced, sang, played red light green light and peak-a-boo with people fortunate enough to be waiting near us.

When the nurse called us back Ellie was very enthusiastic and ran right in, then reality set in & she suddenly became shy. She quietly(and with a little hesitation) let the nurse take her weight, vitals & temperature. Before the accident Ellie weighed 38 lbs, when she was released from the hospital she was at 29 lbs, I was pleasantly surprised to see she is now at 32 lbs!
When the Dr. came in Ellie looked at the floor, he asked her if she was going to talk to him and she just shook her head no, she was like that the entire visit. He decided he didn't need to do a CT scan or MRI since she looked so great and we had no major concerns other than the ones that are "typical" of the injury. He suggested talking with her pediatrician about the emotional issues and the headaches/earaches. The Dr. told us she looked fantastic and to keep doin what we are doing, he shook Ellie's hand and left. Ellie gave me a big thumbs as soon as he was gone!

Ellie was super happy to go home. Friday night some of our friends invited us to go to Peter Piper Pizza, we thought it would be a great treat for all the kids, but especially Ellie since she did so well earlier. Everyone had a blast including Maeley.

I have a lot to blog about, now that I have an actual computer and not a phone I will get caught up on all the happenings, birthdays, holidays ect....
